At Thompsons Group, we’re looking for a HSEQ Manager (Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality) to join our team and help support the group with management of our integrated management systems and promoting our positive and proactive safety culture. As the HSEQ Manager, you will act as the competent person for all health, safety, environmental, and quality matters. Reporting to the Technical Director you will take ownership of our Integrated Management Systems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and ISO standards, while supporting operational teams across office and site environments.
- Certifications: NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (General) is essential
- Experience: Proven experience in a HSEQ role within the environmental, construction or allied industries.
- Auditing: Practical experience auditing and implementing ISO standards.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation.
- Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
As HSEQ Manager, you’ll be at the heart of our business and a proactive part of the team. You will be based at our head office but will also undertake site visits as required. Your responsibilities will include:
- Driving a proactive HSEQ culture and ensuring compliance with UK H&S legislation (e.g., Health & Safety at Work Act, CDM 2015, COSHH, RIDDOR)
- Maintaining and improving ISO management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 4501) and SSIP schemes
- Leading internal and site audits, maintaining and developing risk assessments and method statements
- Overseeing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and statutory reporting
- Delivering HSEQ training and providing documentation for PQQs and tender submissions
- Assisting with the development and delivery of the company ESG strategy
