We are a family-run business based in Norwich seeking an experienced and proactive Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations within our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising production teams, maintaining safety and quality standards, and ensuring production targets are achieved efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, good mechanical knowledge, and experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience within cardboard box manufacturing would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production policies and procedures.
- Delegate manufacturing tasks to ensure production deadlines are met.
- Supervise and support manufacturing employees on the production floor.
- Communicate expectations clearly and monitor team performance.
- Promote and enforce occupational health and safety standards.
- Establish production priorities to maximise efficiency and resolve issues as they arise.
- Monitor manufacturing equipment and control points to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Arrange repairs or replacement of faulty production equipment where required.
- Report team performance and operational updates to the Production Manager.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Train and onboard new production employees.
- Manage employee performance, including coaching and disciplinary action when necessary.
- Encourage strong teamwork, communication, and cooperation across departments.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in cardboard box manufacturing is desirable.
- Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of production equipment.
- Familiarity with assembly processes and production line operations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
