Financial Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and develop a small, high-performing finance team, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching and development to junior team members.
  • Drive efficiency and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Management Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts across multiple entities within the Group.
  • Produce and present detailed board packs, including margin performance and variance reporting.
  • Lead monthly Board Meetings, providing clear financial insight and strategic recommendations to company directors.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow

  • Lead annual budgeting and ongoing financial forecasting processes.
  • Manage short- and long-term cashflow, with a strong focus on seasonal trading cycles and high-value stock investment.
  • Support the setting and monitoring of departmental targets across sales, operations and aftersales.

Audit, Compliance & Regulation

  • Manage the full audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion.
  • Oversee statutory accounts and compliance across NI & ROI entities.
  • Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, including margin schemes and cross-border (ROI/EUUK) transactions.
  • Manage company insurance renewals and risk coverage.

Stock, Funding & Operational Finance

  • Manage stock control across the Group, including high-value motorhome inventory.
  • Ensure accurate stock valuation, reconciliation, and reporting across multiple sites.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to maintain integrity and control.
  • Manage relationships with stocking loan providers, manufacturer finance programmes, and funding partners.
  • Oversee drawdown, settlement, and audit of stocking facilities.

Banking & External Stakeholder Management

  • Manage key relationships with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and finance partners.
  • Oversee banking administration, including mandates and facility management (e.g. BOI mandates).
  • Monitor financial covenants and ensure ongoing compliance.

Systems, Processes & Controls

  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of a new financial and motor industry system.
  • Drive automation and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual workload.
  • Develop and enforce robust internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems.

HR & People Management

  • Oversee HR administration and processes across the business, ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
  • Manage payroll oversight in conjunction with internal teams.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and staff development across departments.
  • Assist in performance management processes, including reviews and disciplinary procedures where required.

Strategic & Commercial Involvement

  • Partner with Sales, Operations and Logistics teams to optimise stock turn, margin and pricing.
  • Provide financial modelling to support pricing, expansion, and international sales decisions.
  • Lead financial risk management across the Group.
  • Identify, research and implement grant funding opportunities.

About You

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA).
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to build models and analyse complex datasets.
  • Proven experience as a senior accountant or similar.
  • Experience within a stock-intensive or dealership environment (motorhomes, automotive, machinery or similar) highly desirable.
  • Experience implementing new financial or industry-specific systems.
  • Strong understanding of VAT, margin schemes, and cross-border transactions.
  • Knowledge of ROI tax and compliance (including personal taxation advantageous).
  • Experience managing pensions and payroll-related reporting beneficial.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
  • Comfortable working autonomously, using initiative and managing competing priorities.
  • Confident presenting financial performance and insights at board level.
  • High attention to detail with a proactive, commercially focused mindset.
