Opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious and value-driven recruiter to join our award-winning team at Thompson & Terry Recruitment. Following our recognition as Oxfordshire SME of the Year 2025 at The Oxfordshire Business Awards and the exciting launch of our Biotech and Executive Search divisions, we are continuing to grow, and this vacancy comes as a direct result of that expansion.
This is a varied and hands-on recruitment role where, alongside day-to-day recruitment, you will gain invaluable experience in all parts of our wider business. This is a unique opportunity to not only expand your recruitment expertise but also learn first-hand how to successfully run and scale a thriving recruitment business.
Unlike a traditional agency, Thompson & Terry Recruitment does not register candidates onto a database. Instead, for every vacancy we work on, we apply a headhunting approach to identify, engage, and secure the very best person for the role.
This role would therefore suit a recruiter who thrives in a candidate-driven market and who genuinely shares our consultative, values-led approach.
About the Company
At Thompson & Terry Recruitment, we pride ourselves on our consultative, ethical approach to recruitment. Our ethos is simple: we only submit candidates to our clients if we would personally employ them ourselves. We are passionate about building long-term relationships founded on honesty, integrity, and transparency. Our culture is something we are incredibly proud of and it’s a huge part of why we were named Oxfordshire SME of the Year.
Every member of our team had a hand in creating our mission statement, which we live and breathe daily. As part of our commitment to our people, while we have an office in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, we are keen to open this role to those seeking remote working with occasional travel (mainly Oxfordshire). In addition to our ambition to move to a 4-day week in 2026, within this role there is also the opportunity for clear progression with guaranteed promotions and pay rises and a supportive and collaborative working environment, with plenty of work socials and team events.
Responsibilities
- Engage in day-to-day recruitment activities and contribute across wider business areas.
- Utilise a headhunting approach for every vacancy to identify and secure top candidates.
- Collaborate in a small, ethically driven team in a hands-on, value-led environment.
- Support growth initiatives, including Biotech and Executive Search divisions, and help shape their success.
Requirements
- A proven track record of excelling within a value-driven recruitment environment (In-House or Agency).
- A hands-on recruiter who enjoys working collaboratively within a small, ethically driven team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the drive to keep learning and growing.
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career with Thompson & Terry Recruitment, in line with our values.
- A desire to understand the inner workings of a business and play an active role in driving its growth.
- An enthusiasm to gain exposure to our exciting growth areas, including our newly launched Biotech and Executive Search divisions, with the opportunity to help shape their success.
