This role will take full accountability for all manufacturing engineering activities in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities:

Responsibilities
- Design, prove, implement and maintain production systems to deliver product on time, to quality and cost requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste.
- Drive product design for manufacture and assembly activities.
- Drive product CAM/CAE activities.
- Drive validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales.
- Analyse downtime, identify trends and develop solutions.
- Ensure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation and systems data.
- Deliver and drive continuous training and development.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) for area of responsibility.
- Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar environment, i.e. heavy engineering, automotive or aerospace.
- Experience of leading a team.
- Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production.
- Thorough knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of Airbus and or Boeing systems and processes.
- Knowledge of global competition in the cabin interiors industry.
- Strong working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD.
- Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree. HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications will be considered where proven vocational specialist experience can be demonstrated.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
