The post holder will support manufacturing engineering activities in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities, product and process design, equipment/tool design, production system design, automated systems and control or quality & continuous improvement. Responsibilities Design, prove, implement and/or maintain production systems to deliver product on time to quality and cost requirements Support continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement and machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste. Support product design for manufacture and assembly activities, and product CAM/CAE activities Support cutting tool selection/design, work holding tool design and mould design, and validation plans to ensure robust and comprehensive technical solutions. Develop and maintain project plans and budget profiles to ensure delivery of milestones to agreed cost targets and timescales Identify and justify capital equipment investment Analyse and improve material usage, downtime, and identify trends and develop solutions Ensure accuracy of manufacturing engineering procedures, documentation and systems data Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks relative to the value stream or central function Reward Competitive salary Annual bonus (linked to company performance) 33 days annual leave 37.5 hours per week £5,000 employee referral bonus Health cash plan Contributory salary sacrifice pension scheme Cycle to Work Scheme Life Assurance Scheme at x4 gross salary Competitive enhanced Maternity and Paternity pay Dedicated employee parking Employee Recognition scheme Long Service Awards Wellbeing Initiatives Discounted Gym membership Local charity / sponsorship activities Learning and development opportunities Career progression Requirements Essential Minimum 1-3 years’ experience in a similar environment, i.e. heavy engineering, automotive or aerospace. Strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes In depth knowledge and experience of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and Lean Manufacturing techniques Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to present data effectively Problem-solving skills Desirable Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree is preferred, or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications Experience of New Product Introduction, reworking design changes and upgrades through to production Working knowledge of Airbus and or Boeing systems and processes Knowledge of global completion in the cabin interiors industry Working knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD Membership of an industry related professional body We reserve the right to enhance criteria on shortlisting.
