The post holder will be responsible for working within multi-disciplined Engineering teams to deliver design solutions for new concepts & customisation of existing products for our customers across the globe, ensuring delivery to cost, time, quality & adherence to strict aerospace regulations.
Within the Engineering Associate roles there are 3 opportunities for specialism:
- Mechanical Design Responsibilities
- Produce 3D models of parts & assemblies.
- Produce 2D detail drawings of parts and 2D assembly drawing.
- Produce electrical harness routing and equipment layouts.
- Assembly and BOM configuration.
- Release of engineering drawings following company release procedures.
- Change management of engineering drawings following company release procedures.
- Support prototype hardware build through NPI development.
- Contribute to design solutions.
- Work collaboratively as part of an integrated project team.
- Deliver work packages to the project plan.
- Electrical Design Responsibilities
- Liaising with 3rd party vendors in support of projects.
- Supporting prototyping for new projects considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
- Creating relevant documentation, such as Test Plans and Reports for electrical testing of seats.
- Providing end to end support on an electrical basis throughout the lifecycle of projects.
- Supporting the Engineering team to achieve key milestone dates and work with internal stakeholders to assist with production investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build and test issues.
- Certification Responsibilities
- Preparing documents, such as specifications, test plans and reports related to aircraft seating.
- Working with outside vendors, internal departments and other engineering disciplines for compliant, airworthy products.
- Working on concessions through internal processes to ensure continued airworthiness.
- Working with internal customers to assist with troubleshooting on product investigation and resolution of issues.
- Working in project teams designing new products, ensuring they will meet reliability and airworthiness standards to perform consistently in specified operating environments.

Requirements
- Essential
- Minimum Level 5 qualification in relevant Engineering or related discipline
- 3D CAD modelling skills
- Previous experience in a Design and/or Engineering related role
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Strong IT skills including MS office tools
- Ability to provide input to technical solutions on a wide range of problems, understanding manufacturing and certification principles
- Desirable
- Experience of sheetmetal, machined or plastic vacuum formed part design & manufacturing processes
- Experience of electrical equipment integration and layout modelling
- Catia V6 design software
- Previous experience writing test plans/reports
- General knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules
- Working knowledge of mechanical and interior design guidelines for CFR Part 25 aircraft
