The Quality Technician will support the completion of quality tasks and deliverables, ensuring they are completed on time and to the required standard. This role supports assembly, new product introductions, and supplier quality. It focuses on assisting the Quality Engineers in preventing defects through effective problem solving, and promoting built in quality across the product lifecycle. Operating in a fast paced environment, the Quality Technician will collaborate with the design and production teams to assist in driving continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Work in accordance with all health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
- Ensure that all products are manufactured and assembled in accordance with the relevant standards.
- Support the maintenance and development of the Quality Management System to ensure continued AS9100, Airworthiness/Regulatory, OEM and Customer compliance.
- Assist in driving defect prevention and embedding a culture of built in quality across production and the new product introduction processes.
- Work within integrated project teams throughout the product lifecycle to provide quality data and feedback to Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operational processes.
- Assist with conforming test articles.
- Assist in the development and introduction of new products by completing necessary quality checks in accordance with the VNPI process.
- Support and assist the Quality Engineers in customer and OEM milestone reviews by preparing documentation, data and inspection tooling.
- Create Quality Alerts, Quality Inspection Plans and First Article Inspection Reports.
- Assist quality inspectors by performing routine quality standard capability reviews and documenting findings.
- Support monitoring and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Quality department.
- Provide on the ground Quality support to assembly areas, ensuring a timely response with containment and longer term RCCA data collection.
- Support supplier quality activities, including the reporting of non conformances and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work alongside manufacturing and assembly to conduct observations and gather information that help improve operational performance.
- Assist with MRB disposition and investigations.
- Participate in quality improvement activities through structured problem solving.
- Support the internal and external audit programme.
Requirements
- Essential Experience of working within a manufacturing and/or a Quality environment.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
- Knowledge of quality tools.
- Ability to use various measuring devices and equipment - meters, gauges, etc.
- Ability to gather, maintain and interpret data.
- Desirable Higher-level qualification, such as HNC/HND, in a relevant discipline.
