The post holder will be responsible for supporting Manufacturing Engineering activities in one or a combination of the following areas of responsibilities: Product design Process design Equipment/Tool design Production system design Automated systems and control Quality & continuous Improvement Responsibilities Programming 3 and 5 axis CNC Milling Machines Cutting tool selection and work holding tool design Validating programming quality through part FAI Creation of machine set up sheets & operator work instructions. Improving and working to lean manufacturing process. Ensuring the safety of both employees and machinery Training / mentoring less experienced programmers within the department. Liaise with tooling and software manufacturers to drive Continuous Improvement. Investigate and apply techniques to reduce cycle times and explore new technology to improve workshop throughput. (Mastercam Hypermill / Delcam / Catia or equivalent) Experience working within a lean Manufacturing environment Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings Possess strong computer skills to include all programs in the Microsoft Office Suite Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Good time management skills Flexible attitude to changing deadlines Desirable Working knowledge of Fanuc and Heidenhain controls Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering degree or HND, BTec Professional Level 5 Award or equivalent NVQ Level 5 qualifications We reserve the right to enhance criteria on shortlisting.
