We are seeking a highly organised SHEQ Coordinator to join the SHEQ team at Thomas Bow, supporting the SHEQ Manager and wider business by coordinating the Integrated Management System (IMS) and helping us bring greater structure, efficiency, and consistency to SHEQ across our operations
This is a hands‑on role that gives the successful candidate the opportunity to gain a strong working knowledge of SHEQ across our business. By engaging directly with our Commercial, Surfacing, Civils, Highways Maintenance, and Plant Departments, the role holder will not only maintain compliance but also help upskill operational teams, driving ownership of SHEQ in their everyday work. The coordinator will be encouraged and supported in identifying where processes can be improved and simplified to improve efficiency.
The role will initially be focused on achieving strong control of SHEQ documentation and records. Over time as we gain greater control, simplify processes, upskill teams, there will be an opportunity to expand into wider SHEQ responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update SHEQ documentation, including policies, procedures, ensuring procedures and forms remain up to date, practical, and easy to use whilst maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, NHSS 16 & 30, and Constructionline Gold requirements
- Support preparations for PAS 2080 (Carbon) Accreditation
- Review SHEQ processes to remove unnecessary complexity and duplication. Actively explore technology and process improvements that enhance efficiency within the business and particularly in the SHEQ team
- Drive better utilisation of the Re‑flow system for managing site information and records including incident and near‑miss reporting
- Track employee training, maintain the central competency matrix , including health surveillance and safety critical medicals
- Manage CITB grant claims and ensure the business benefits from available funding
- Assist in developing and maintaining robust Carbon data collection and reporting
- Coordinate internal audits with internal auditor and support external audits ensuring we have access to required evidence and records.
- Support and be active within the SWEE Team (Safety, Wellbeing & Environment Enhancement Team) , ensuring they are scheduled and minuted accurately
- Assist in compiling SHEQ performance reports and dashboards for management
- Assist estimators with SHEQ inputs to pre‑qualification questionnaires and bids

Qualifications & Experience
- Experience with IMS administration or SHEQ coordination in construction preferred
- Knowledge of ISO standards is desirable
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Re‑flow or similar digital site systems
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Experience with training coordination would be advantageous
- Structured personal development plan (PDP) to support learning and progression.
- Role holder is in control of their progression, with scope to grow role within Thomas Bow.
