Due to continued growth we are now seeking a Teacher of English to join our team from Easter 2025 or September 2025.

The Department

The English department is a thriving and enthusiastic team committed to delivering the highest standards for the students. Each team member has a key role to play in the innovative and highly‑motivated team which aspires to provide the best opportunities across all year groups – both in the classroom and also through a programme of enrichment and wider curriculum opportunities. In Key Stage 3, we run a three‑year programme which enables students to study a range of topics across Language and Literature which provide the foundations for Key Stage 4. We also offer Media Studies. All students complete GCSE English Language and English Literature, reflecting our ambitious expectations in securing excellent outcomes for our young people. We are also a popular subject area Post‑16; at A Level, we offer English Literature, English Language and Media Studies. The English department recognises the value of imaginative and integrated planning, where working together as a team and sharing best practice underpins the ethos. Departmental and whole school professional development opportunities are also a hallmark of the department’s vision.

Candidates for this post should be highly motivated teachers who would relish the challenge of working with an innovative team looking to build on its success to date.

Salaries are competitive.

Successful candidates are eligible for performance related pay linked to Academy policy in addition to their salary. Staff enjoy working in state of the art facilities, with a calm positive and respectful environment. Staff are given an 80% teaching commitment, allowing them time to develop excellent lessons. Up to 10 days per year are allocated for professional development. A modern fitness centre is available for staff use free of charge.

The Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All successful candidates will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring (DBS) Check and two employment references.
