Our NEC Training & Contracts division delivers industry-leading training and consultancy services, ensuring best practice in contract management and procurement. We are seeking a dynamic Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team in Westminster, London.
The Role
The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for driving the early stages of the sales process by identifying, engaging and qualifying leads. As the first point of contact for potential clients, the SDR will generate interest in NEC’s training and contract solutions through proactive outreach via phone, email and social media. This role is crucial to the growth of our sales pipeline and overall business success.
The role operates within the UK market and reports directly to the Head of Sales, NEC and ICE Training.
Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Engagement
- Respond to client enquiries and generated leads.
- Validate and qualify potential leads before passing them to the sales team.
- Actively seek new business opportunities through research and outreach.
- Build and nurture client relationships to establish NEC as a trusted advisor.
- Conduct targeted research to identify and initiate contact with prospective customers.
Operational Support
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all leads and opportunities in Salesforce CRM.
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate any quality, commercial, or timing issues to the Head of Sales for prompt resolution.
Sales Forecasting & Reporting
- Regularly update the sales pipeline and forecasts to support accurate business planning.

Key Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in researching potential clients and tailoring outreach accordingly.
- Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and digital outreach tools such as LinkedIn.
- Demonstrated success in lead generation, prospecting, or a similar customer-facing role.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed outreach, qualification and pipeline development targets.
