E-Learning Development Specialist – 12-Month Fixed Term Contract
Location: Westminster/Hybrid
Salary: £38,000
Hours: Full-Time – 36.25 per week

Are you a creative and tech-savvy eLearning professional looking to make an impact in digital learning? NEC is seeking an eLearning Development Specialist to join our NEC and ICE Training team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Role
In this exciting role, you’ll design, develop, and implement engaging eLearning solutions that support our strategic goals and meet the evolving needs of our learners. You’ll collaborate with subject-matter experts, manage third-party development projects, and contribute to the digital transformation of our training portfolio.
Key Accountabilities:
- Transform technical content into diverse, interactive eLearning modules and instructional design materials using tools like Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Design detailed storyboards that outline the course structure, flow, and visual elements of the eLearning modules, aligning with learning objectives and audience needs.
- Ensure content meets UX and accessibility standards and complies with specifications for web-based educational technologies (e.g., SCORM, TinCan).
- Conduct QA testing and maintain accurate records of digital assets.
- Stay up to date with eLearning trends and technologies.
- Support product innovation and customer engagement activities.
- Conduct research for assigned development projects where required.
- Work with subject-matter experts and other stakeholders to transform existing educational content, including text, images, videos and assessments into interactive eLearning modules that cater to diverse learning styles.
- Ensure that all new/existing digital learning products are up to date, retain the integrity of all products.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology trends and best practice in eLearning to enhance the quality and effectiveness of developed content.
- Lead/participate in customer demos and testing sessions where required.
- Record and monitor the costs for development tools, license updates, process invoice where necessary .
Key Skills:
- Proven experience in developing digital learning products.
- Strong knowledge of LMS platforms and SCORM standards.
- Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.).
- Creative skills in visual and video content production.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry desirable.
- Strong instructional design and UX understanding.
- Experience working with AI tools for content localisation, voice-over generation or adaptive learning design is highly desirable.

- A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field
