Thomas Sherriff has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Ag Sales Professional in the Southern region of our business. We are looking for an individual to grow our Agricultural Division in the West area of Hexham, selling market-leading brands including John Deere, Kuhn Farm Machinery, Kramer telehandlers & loaders, Dal-Bo, Stewart Agriculture, and Ifor Williams.

The successful candidate should be a forward-thinking individual, preferably with knowledge of modern agricultural machinery and farming practices. Good IT skills are essential to utilize all of the sales tools available, including a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management system. Knowledge of the Hexham area would be beneficial.

We offer a very competitive salary for the successful applicant, along with sales commission, a company car, and a pension scheme.

Responsibilities include:

  • Represent the Dealership in the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area.
  • Execute all sales process steps to achieve high sales performance using available sales tools from John Deere.
  • Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment and services, and attend relevant sales training events.
  • Stay informed about financing options to assist customers in purchasing new and used equipment.
  • Monitor competitor activity and products, and communicate insights to sales management via CRM.
  • Conduct field demonstrations.
  • Ensure timely delivery and follow-up according to the Customer Care Process.
  • Build strong and loyal relationships with customers in the sales area.
  • Monitor trends in customers’ business activities and communicate findings to management.
  • Utilize support from Sales Specialists when necessary.

Preferably have 1+ years of equipment sales experience; full training will be provided if not. Possess good knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming practices. Be proficient in using standard computer applications, internet functions, and sales tools. Be familiar with John Deere and competitive products. Have the ability to analyze and interpret internal reports. Exhibit excellent customer relationship skills. Be willing to work extended hours. Demonstrate a positive attitude with integrity and honesty.
