Your apprenticeship teaches you how to manage John Deere’s sophisticated parts systems, run a profitable retail environment, merchandise goods effectively, and understand the value of John Deere products and the importance of selling on quality rather than on price.
In contrast to the Ag Tech and Turf Tech apprenticeships, the John Deere Parts Tech apprenticeship programme is delivered mainly in the workplace, i.e. at the John Deere dealership where you are employed. Workplace training is supplemented with one week a year at the John Deere Apprentice Training Centre, Nottinghamshire.
Duties include:
- Promoting and selling parts and/or services to meet customer needs both face to face and over the phone.
- Supplying Service Technicians with parts as required.
- Identifying parts through a variety of catalogue systems to provide quotations for a range of agricultural equipment.
- Assisting with preparing and maintaining merchandise display within the showroom.
- Receipt of incoming shipments.
- Following up on shortages and accelerates issues by reporting to the Depot Parts Manager.
- Executing sales parts marketing plans and sharing ideas for future campaigns.
- Executing telemarketing sales operations.
- Maintaining control of inventory management, invoicing and other administrative tasks.
- Assisting in keeping parts inventory clean, orderly and well organised.
- Processing payment transactions.
- Hydraulic hose identification and manufacture.
