Our client is an award-winning, prestigious Global Sovereign Wealth Fund with a global footprint spanning Europe, North America and Asia. They are seeking to appoint a Principal - Venture Capital which will sit within their Private Equity/Investments Team. A pivotal role, you will play a lead in identifying, sourcing, monitoring and managing investments within their Venture Capital Team. You will have a strong grasp of venture capital investing and how AI is reshaping and influencing financial services. The ideal candidate will have diverse expertise spanning private equity and venture capital investing, entrepreneurial initiatives and early stage investing.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Investment Sourcing & Market Intelligence
- Actively originate and source co-investment opportunities aligned with the team's Global Venture Capital strategy.
- Maintain a robust network of VC and growth-focused fund managers, founders, bankers, and ecosystem stakeholders to support deal flow.
- Track macroeconomic, technological, and sectoral trends to identify emerging opportunities and risks across global innovation hubs.
- Deal Evaluation & Execution
- Lead or co-lead all aspects of the investment process, including opportunity assessment, business and financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, investment structuring, and negotiations.
- Develop sophisticated financial models and sensitivity analyses; clearly articulate investment theses in high-quality internal memos and presentation materials.
- Coordinate and oversee workstreams across internal stakeholders (legal, tax, compliance, risk) and external advisors (consultants, technical experts, legal counsel).
- Portfolio Management & Value Creation
- Monitor and manage portfolio company performance through interactions with VC partners, financial analysis, and strategic engagement with company management teams.
- Lead the preparation of company reviews, dashboards, and periodic performance updates to senior leadership.
- Contribute to exit planning, liquidity analysis, and realization strategy where relevant.
