Mechanical Assembler Location: Stonehouse, Gloucestershire Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 DOE Shift: Day Shift Permanent | Engineering & Manufacturing Are you a hands-on Mechanical Assembler with experience working within an engineering or manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Stonehouse. This is a varied, practical role where you will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and finished products to a high standard, working from engineering drawings and technical instructions. The position would suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, takes pride in producing quality products and is comfortable using a variety of hand and power tools. The Role As a Mechanical Assembler, you will work as part of the manufacturing team, completing a range of mechanical assembly and fitting activities. Your responsibilities will include: Mechanical assembly of components, sub-assemblies and finished products Working from engineering drawings and technical instructions Fitting and assembling mechanical components Using hand and power tools Carrying out drilling, tapping, reaming and general fitting operations where required Installing mechanical hardware and components Completing basic mechanical adjustments Checking completed assemblies against drawings and specifications Carrying out in-process quality checks Identifying and reporting any quality or assembly issues Ensuring products are assembled accurately and to the required standard Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment Supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation What We’re Looking For We would like to hear from candidates with previous experience within mechanical assembly, engineering, manufacturing or mechanical fitting. Ideally, you will have: Previous Mechanical Assembly experience (essential) Mechanical fitting experience Experience using hand and power tools Ability to work from engineering drawings Good practical and mechanical skills Experience assembling components to specifications Good understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes Strong attention to detail Experience carrying out basic inspection and quality checks Ability to work accurately and consistently A proactive and hands-on approach Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team Experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment would be particularly advantageous.
