THOMAS Professional are currently working in partnership with an established engineering and fabrication business based in Raglan, who are looking to recruit an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join their growing workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled fabricator who enjoys varied, bespoke work rather than repetitive production. Every project is different, from structural platforms and access equipment through to bespoke machinery, industrial fabrications and specialist engineering solutions. You will be working from engineering drawings to produce high-quality finished products for a wide range of industries.
Working Hours
- Weekdays only - Tuesday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Permanent 4-day working week. Plenty of overtime available.
Welder / Fabricator Benefits
- Salary £16p/h - £17p/h depending on experience

Welder / Fabricator Duties
- MIG, TIG and MMA welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium
- Fabricating sheet metal, structural steelwork and bespoke fabrications
- Manufacture one-off and small batch engineering projects from technical drawings
- Working from engineering drawings, sketches and fabrication plans
- Measuring, marking out, cutting and assembling fabricated components
- Carrying out quality inspections throughout the fabrication process
- Supporting installation work on customer sites when required
- Maintaining exceptionally high standards of workmanship
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures
- Working both independently and as part of a close-knit engineering team
Welder / Fabricator Essential Experience
- Previous experience within a Welder / Fabricator position
- Confident MIG welding with TIG and MMA experience advantageous
- Strong sheet metal fabrication experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience producing bespoke fabrications rather than repetitive production work
- Background within heavy engineering, structural steel, industrial engineering or similar manufacturing environment
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship
- Ability to problem solve and think independently
- Flexible approach towards overtime when required
