We are currently working in partnership with a rapidly growing third-party logistics (3PL) and fulfilment provider who are looking to appoint a Logistics Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy warehousing and fulfilment site. This is a highly visible, customer-facing management position where you will lead operational performance, manage a team of up to 30 employees and build long-term relationships with key customers. The business continues to grow year on year and offers genuine opportunities for career progression into senior leadership.
The Role
As Logistics Operations Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy fulfilment operation, ensuring customer orders are processed accurately, efficiently and delivered to exceptional service levels. Working closely with both customers and operational teams, you will be responsible for maintaining excellent customer relationships, resolving operational challenges and ensuring service expectations are consistently achieved, whilst identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a busy warehousing and fulfilment facility.
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of approximately 30 operational employees.
- Build and maintain strong long-term relationships with customers, acting as the primary operational contact.
- Manage customer expectations professionally, resolving delivery, stock and service issues whilst maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with customers to understand operational requirements and provide effective logistics solutions.
- Coordinate warehouse, fulfilment and dispatch activities to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
- Oversee stock control and inventory accuracy across the operation.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and transport partners.
- Negotiate delivery costs and commercial rates with logistics providers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Monitor operational performance through KPIs, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures together with Health & Safety and operational best practice.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the business and contribute towards future operational growth.
Experience & Skills Required
- Previous experience working within an Operations Manager, Logistics Manager, Warehouse Operations Manager or Fulfilment Operations role.
- Strong background within logistics, warehousing, fulfilment or supply chain operations.
- Previous experience managing operational teams within a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills with the ability to build long-term partnerships.
- Experience managing customer expectations whilst resolving operational challenges professionally.
- Experience coordinating third-party logistics (3PL) providers and transport operations.
- Commercial awareness with experience negotiating delivery costs and logistics services.
- Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with customers at all levels.
- A proactive, customer-focused management style with a continuous improvement mindset.
