The Role

Join a supportive team of 11 lecturers delivering high-quality Health and Social Care education across multiple campuses. This fast-paced role involves teaching, assessment, and administrative tracking to ensure every learner achieves their potential and progresses into their chosen career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging activities that meet curriculum aims and accommodate diverse learner needs.
  • Design and apply fair assessment methods, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate records of progress.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment, managing classroom behaviour effectively.
  • Engage in peer mentoring, coaching, and continuous professional development.
  • Work with colleagues and external agencies to address learning barriers, including literacy and numeracy development.

Shortlisting Criteria

Essential:

  • Teaching experience in Health and Social Care (or related subjects) at Levels 2 and 3.
  • A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) or a willingness to complete one.
  • A degree-level qualification in Health and Social Care.
  • Willingness to undergo Safeguarding and Equality & Diversity training.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching in a post-16 setting.
  • Practical nursing or clinical experience.

  • Ability to inspire young people and communicate effectively using various media and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize workloads and adapt to changes.
