Job Title: CNC Sliding head Machinist
Location: Keighley
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Shift: Monday - Thursday 07:00 - 17:30
Salary: £35,000- £40,000 (DOE) - Overtime Paid at time and a half.
About the role
An established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced CNC Sliding head machinist to join its busy manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist to work within a high precision manufacturing environment, producing quality components for a range of industries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC fixed head lathes and producing precision batch work to demanding customer specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Setting and Operating CNC Star Sliding Head Lathes
- Working to tight tolerances
- Producing high precision batch work components anywhere from 50 off to 1000s off. Setting and Operating using Fanuc Controls
- Producing parts from various general engineering and exotic materials
- Operating and setting on New and up to date machinery Skills Required
- Setting and Operating CNC Fixed or Sliding head Lathes experience
- (The ability to program is advantageous but not essential)
- Previous experience working within a high precision manufacturing environment.
- The ability to read and Interpret engineering drawings
- Able to Inspect machined components using various inspection equipment
- Must be Self-motivated, dedicated and able to work under own initiative.
- Training will be provided
Skills and Experience

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an experienced CNC Sliding Head Machinist who is confident working independently within a precision engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce components to tight tolerances.
