An established precision engineering business is looking for an experienced CNC Turner Setter Operator to join its busy manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist to work within a high precision manufacturing environment, producing quality components for a range of industries.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC fixed head lathes and producing precision batch work to demanding customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating CNC fixed head lathes
  • Setting and operating machines using Fanuc controls
  • Producing high precision batch work components, typically ranging from 50 to 2500 components
  • Working to tight engineering tolerances
  • Producing components from a range of general engineering and exotic materials
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the manufacturing process
  • Ensuring components are produced accurately and efficiently

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience setting and operating CNC fixed head lathes
  • Experience working with twin spindle lathes would be advantageous
  • CNC programming experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Previous experience within a high precision manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work
  • Ability to work accurately to tight tolerances

Overtime is available and paid at time and a half. Salary is dependent on experience and skill level. 200 hours annual holiday plus statutory holidays. An additional day of annual leave is awarded for every three years of service. Excellent rates of pay available for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to consistently produce components to tight tolerances.
