We are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a permanent Class 1 Shunter Driver in Cardiff for multiple shifts. You will be based in Cardiff and will only travel within that work site.
The successful candidate will ensure that all products are moved around joint sites safely and efficiently, as per the instructions outlaid by the Transport Planning Team. The company offers year on year progression, growth of teams and chances to progress your career, as well as yearly pay rises in line with economy inflation.
You MUST have a Class 1 license.
3 Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – 3 shift pattern on a weekly rotation (Week 1: mornings 6am – 2pm, Week 2: afternoons 2pm – 10pm and Week 3: 10pm – 6am)
Shunter Driver Benefits:
- Salary of £34,400

Shunter Driver Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the daily movement of goods around company site
- Strap and secure loads on both flatbed and curtain sided vehicles
- Performing daily vehicle checks
- Movement of products in a safe and efficient manner
- Completing all tasks as instructed by the Transport Planner
- Following compliance with all EH&S and company procedures
Shunter Driver Essential Experience and licenses:
- Experience within a similar Shunter/Driver role
- HGV Class 1 Driving License with no endorsements
- Experience of strapping and securing loads on both flatbed and curtain sided vehicles
- Must be able to follow instruction, working in a safe manner both on site and on the road
- Drivers CPC, Digital Drivers Card
- Able to communicate at all levels and work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work on multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
- Positive and flexible can-do attitude
