The Opportunity
On behalf of our client, a leading educational institution in Gloucestershire, we are seeking a passionate Lecturer in Computing to join an expanding department. This role is focused on delivering high quality BTEC qualifications from Level 1 through to Level 5, including T Level Digital Support and Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs). Our client provides a cutting edge learning environment equipped with the latest hardware and software. You will join a collaborative team of 20 lecturing staff who are dedicated to professional growth and maintaining strong links with local industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide engaging learning and assessment activities that meet curriculum requirements and the specific needs of all learners.
- Select and develop effective resources using new and emerging technologies to ensure an inclusive and diverse learning experience.
- Establish a purposeful and motivating learning space where students feel safe, confident, and valued.
- Work alongside colleagues to identify and address literacy, language, and numeracy development within the computing specialist area.
- Contribute to the quality cycle by producing accurate assessment information and keeping detailed records of learner progress.
- Actively promote equality, diversity, and safeguarding policies while participating in professional development conversations.
Requirements:
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience teaching BTEC or T Level qualifications in a relevant subject area.
- Current and appropriate specialist knowledge of the computing industry.
- Relevant industry experience.
- PGCE, DTTLS, or Certificate in Education, or a firm willingness to complete one with full support from the client.
- Minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent Level 2 in English and Mathematics.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check with child barred list check.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience teaching GCSE or A Level in a relevant subject.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant computing subject.
