Are you an experienced CNC Lathe Setter Operator looking for a permanent day-shift opportunity in Coventry? We are currently recruiting for a CNC Lathe Setter Operator to join an established engineering and manufacturing business. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Lathe Setter Operator who enjoys working hands-on with CNC machinery and takes pride in producing high-quality components to technical drawings and production requirements.
The role will involve setting and operating CNC lathes, carrying out tooling and offset changes, proving out programmes and ensuring components are produced safely, accurately and efficiently.
The Role
- Setting and operating CNC lathe machinery, including Haas, Puma, Biglia, Dainichi and Mazak machines.
- Proving out new programmes and making programme modifications where required.
- Carrying out offset changes, tooling changes and cutting tip changes.
- Stripping and resetting tools and fixtures confidently and efficiently.
- Completing first-off inspections and quality checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
- Producing components in accordance with route cards, technical drawings, quality standards and production schedules.
- Completing relevant paperwork and shop-floor data accurately.
- Supporting TPM, 6S, SMED and continuous improvement activities.
- Working closely with colleagues and other departments to resolve manufacturing or quality issues.
About You
We’re looking for a CNC Lathe Setter Operator with:
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC lathes within a manufacturing environment.
- A good understanding of technical drawings.
- An appreciation of machining processes and manufacturing best practice.
- The ability to make offset and tooling adjustments and support programme prove-outs.
- Good attention to detail, with a strong focus on quality, safety and meeting production requirements.
- GCSE-level Maths and English (or equivalent) and good computer literacy are also required.
