Our client is an innovative technology manufacturer developing next-generation infrastructure products for global markets. Following significant growth, they are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing & NPI Engineer to work closely with the Lead Engineer, supporting the transition of products from prototype through to full-scale manufacture.
This is a varied engineering role within a fast-paced startup environment, ideal for someone with experience in manufacturing engineering, NPI, production processes, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing implementation. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing assembly methods, manufacturing processes, production workstations, tooling solutions, and compliance activities as the business scales its manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities
- Supporting the transition of products from prototype through to full-scale manufacturing operations
- Designing and implementing manufacturing processes, assembly methods, production workflows, and work instructions
- Developing tooling, fixtures, jigs, and assembly aids to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and repeatability
- Supporting the setup and development of production facilities, workstations, equipment layouts, and manufacturing cells
- Producing and updating CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Working closely with the Lead Engineer to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve product manufacturability
- Supporting prototype builds, product testing, validation activities, and manufacturing trials
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting CE/UKCA compliance activities, machine guarding requirements, and production safety improvements
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and ensuring products are successfully transitioned into production
- Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and fabrication partners regarding tooling, fixtures, manufacturing equipment, and component supply
- Identifying manufacturing improvements, process efficiencies, and opportunities to increase production capacity
- Supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions relating to production, assembly, and manufacturing issues
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within Manufacturing Engineering, Production Engineering, NPI, Industrialisation, or Mechanical Engineering environments
- Experience developing manufacturing processes, assembly methods, tooling, fixtures, or production solutions
- Experience supporting products through NPI, manufacturing readiness, or production implementation activities
- Strong CAD experience using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar software
- Experience designing tooling, jigs, fixtures, or manufacturing equipment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, and engineering problem solving
- Experience supporting risk assessments, manufacturing safety, machine guarding, or compliance activities, supporting CE/UKCA compliance activities
- Practical hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to work within workshop and manufacturing environments
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience working within startup or early-stage product development environments
