About the Opportunity
Thomas Patrick Recruitment is partnering with an exciting high-growth SaaS organisation to appoint an SDR Lead to join their expanding commercial function in London. This is an opportunity to join a scaling business where you will play a significant role in shaping and building an outbound sales function. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in an environment where they can both lead from the front and remain hands-on. This is not a pure management role. The successful individual will operate in a 70% leadership / 30% individual contributor (IC) capacity, managing a team while continuing to actively contribute to pipeline generation and sales activity. You will coach, mentor and develop a team of SDRs/BDRs whilst still personally engaging in outbound activity, including cold calling, opening target accounts and taking qualified opportunities through the sales process.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of approximately 3–4 SDRs/BDRs
- Set team objectives and performance expectations
- Drive accountability and performance management
- Conduct regular coaching sessions and call reviews
- Develop team members through ongoing training and feedback
- Improve processes and increase overall team productivity
- Individual Contributor Responsibilities
- Personally carry a quota alongside leadership responsibilities
- Execute outbound prospecting activity
- Conduct high-quality cold outreach and cold calling activity
- Open and penetrate strategic target accounts
- Take qualified opportunities through relevant stages of the sales process
- Lead by example through activity levels and performance
- Outbound Strategy & Build
- Design, build and optimise outbound prospecting playbooks
- Develop scalable outbound processes and workflows
- Refine messaging and sequencing strategies
- Utilise modern prospecting tools and AI-assisted workflows
- Monitor and analyse key sales metrics
- Identify opportunities for continual process improvement

- Onsite Requirement
- This position requires:
- 4 days per week onsite Monday–Thursday attendance

- Candidates must:
- Already live within a realistic commuting distance
- Be able to clearly demonstrate commute feasibility
- No sponsorship or relocation support available.
- Salary Alignment
- Required salary alignment:
- Base salary: £70,000–£75,000
- OTE: £95,000–£100,000

- Leadership Experience
- Must have:
- Minimum 2 years managing SDR/BDR teams
- Experience coaching and holding teams accountable
- Experience managing quota performance
- Evidence of improving team results
- Outbound SaaS Experience
- Required:
- 5–10 years of outbound B2B SaaS sales experience
- Strong understanding of sales development functions
- Proven experience in outbound pipeline generation
- Not suitable: Inbound-only sales backgrounds, Enterprise field sales backgrounds without outbound ownership
- Career Stability
- Must demonstrate:
- Minimum one role with 2+ years tenure
- Strong career progression
- Stable employment history
- Multiple short-term positions may be considered a concern.
- Strong Cold Calling Ability
- Cold calling is the primary outbound channel. Candidates must demonstrate:
- Recent hands-on cold calling experience
- Confidence coaching others in cold outreach
- Proven success through phone-led outbound activity
- Building Functions From Scratch (0–1 Experience)
- Must have experience:
- Creating or rebuilding outbound processes
- Developing messaging frameworks
- Implementing prospecting strategies
- Improving outbound performance with measurable results
- Candidates who have only inherited established playbooks are unlikely to be suitable.
