Overview

Reports to: Senior Compliance Manager

Hours: Full time, Monday to Friday, 9:30 – 5:30

Location: London

Overall Objective of Role: To provide professional and proactive regulatory compliance advice and support to the TT Club, ITIC & UK P&I in all the jurisdictions in which they are licenced, including the UK, Australia, Bermuda, Hong Kong, Singapore, Cyprus, Greece, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. To support the Senior Compliance Manager and Director of Risk & Compliance in the ongoing development of the Club’s compliance framework.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the maintenance of (re-)insurance licences and US surplus lines, renewals and returns, Terms of Business Agreements.
  • Provide non-admitted insurance advice to the Club’s businesses and departments.
  • Conduct due diligence and independently assess potential matches to sanctioned individuals or entities.
  • Identify and analyse the ultimate beneficial ownership structure of entities and form an opinion on any potential risks; demonstrate confidence and knowledge in sanctions compliance and financial crime.
  • Assess sanctions alerts and resolve potential sanctions matches, conducting outreach to appropriate stakeholders if required.
  • Provide sanctions advice to the business by analysing and applying relevant sanctions legislation to queries and escalating potential sanctions matches to the Senior Compliance Manager for guidance.
  • Conduct regulatory horizon scanning of relevant new or changed compliance risks and regulatory requirements and provide a summary of key points and how this applies to the business.
  • Carry out testing and delivery of the compliance monitoring plan, communicating findings and remedial suggestions.
  • Assist in the preparation of director or senior manager function applications in all jurisdictions in which it operates.
  • Provide ad hoc compliance support to the Compliance Manager and Director of Risk & Compliance as required.

Person Specification:

  • Strong generalist Compliance experience within the Insurance market.
  • Understanding of sanctions regimes and how they apply to insurance.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring.
  • Experience in preparing director applications in line with SMCR (or equivalent).
  • Understand the general principles of the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority regulations and rule books (Regulators of jurisdictions worldwide is preferred, but not essential).
