Reports to: Claims Manager

Working Arrangements: Newcastle, full time Monday – Friday, some flexible working may be required to suit the role’s requirements. Provide out-of-hours “duty phone” service on a team rota.

Company Overview: Thomas Miller Claims Management (TMCM) is a unique marine risk management consultancy providing marine claims handling, adjusting and operational support services to its clients in the marine, transport and general commercial business sectors.

Overall Objective of Role: To handle a varied caseload of P&I claims and provide an efficient, cost‑effective claims handling service that meets the needs of the clients.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Competently manage claims and communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Investigate, analyse, assess, negotiate and settle claims within operational guidelines.
  • Develop productive relations with assureds/clients.
  • Engage with internal and external networks as required.
  • Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure effective management of claims.
  • Deal with all assureds/clients queries effectively to demonstrate visibility, high levels of customer service and empathy.
