The Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) will assist the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in all matters of safeguarding and child protection across the school. They will take part in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings, and contribute to the assessment and support of children. They will advise and support other members of staff on child welfare and child protection matters, and will liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority, police and health partners.

This is a permanent role working 37 hours a week, 39 weeks a year.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has GCSE/NVQ level 3/4 or equivalent in English and Maths. You must have experience of working with children or young adults in an education setting together with experience of liaising with external agencies and professionals on child protection matters. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work across a range of challenging issues and people including parents/carers, scholars, staff and members of the wider community.
