The priceless pieces they create are packaged and presented immaculately at our workshop, before being promptly delivered to our clients based all over the world.

The Role:

Thomas Lyte is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Distribution Assistant to work in our state-of-the-art NE London workshop. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, the role represents an integral part of the workshop team, providing support in the service delivery of some of the world’s most iconic sporting trophies as well as an array of bespoke pieces, both modern and historic. As with all roles within our workshop, we must emphasise that total concentration and focus is required at all times to ensure the safety of all personnel. This is a busy working environment and successful applicants will need to be fully conscious and mindful of the pace and strength of machinery being operated.

Location:

This role will be primarily based at our workshop in Hainault, East London (IG6).

Responsibilities of the Role:

Stock Control:
  • Ensure stock items are protected and stored appropriately, and the warehouse is always kept neat and orderly
  • Record all stock movements; track and control samples including high value and bespoke items e.g., silverware and samples
Goods Inwards:
  • Goods receipt
  • Quality check all inward products within 24 hours of their arrival
  • Raising any issues via a Non-Conformity Report
Goods Despatch:
  • Packing and despatching of goods
  • Making sure that our high packing standards are followed, e.g. high value/fragile items and gift wrapping
  • Confident with booking domestic and international shipments
  • Local driving of deliveries to both suppliers and clients
Other Duties:
  • Answering the door and telephone
  • Receiving incoming visitors, couriers and suppliers
  • General office administration – such as the scanning of documents and artwork
  • Managing heavy tooling – incoming and outgoing
  • Assisting with quality control of all finished productions to ensure that the highest standards are maintained
  • Actively contributing new ideas to the dynamic environment and working closely with staff throughout the company

Skills and Experience:

  • Quality control experience is desirable
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use and improve internal systems, procedures and controls
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (primarily Word and Excel)
  • Knowledge and appreciation of luxury products
  • Full UK Driving License essential
