The Role: We are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join our existing, professional finance team. Reporting to the Lead Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of transactions and the associated movements of funds. As a Legal Cashier, you will help to ensure we maintain strict adherence to the Solicitors’ Accounts Rules (“SARs”), whilst ensuring all completions are dealt with in a timely and accurate manner – processing receipts, checking paperwork, billing cases, paying invoices, processing payments to clients, lenders and third parties. You will act as the first point of contact for the operational teams and assist with resolving issues with residual balances, processing purchase invoices, ensuring payments are made according to terms, and assisting the Lead Cashier and Management Accountant with month-end tasks. This role is suitable for someone used to working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment meeting deadlines while dealing with a variety of stakeholders.
Company: CS Law is a service company for the Group's operations, encompassing Equilaw Ltd, a national equity release service provider, and Thomas Legal, a niche property law firm focusing on residential conveyancing. Both firms have received numerous awards and are exploring growth opportunities.
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a finance/accounts/transactional (AR or AP) role.
- Good understanding of processing payments and receipts and ledger accounting.
- Experience handling client money.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous legal finance experience.
- Qualification in accounting or bookkeeping.

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm (1 hour lunch). Hybrid working after probation period: 3 days in office, 2 days at home.
