Field Based β UK Travel If you can walk up to a CNC machine that has stopped, open the electrical cabinet and methodically work out why , this could be worth a look.
Particularly if Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK or Fanuc are systems you already know your way around.
We're recruiting an experienced Electrical Field Service Engineer to join an established machine tool business supporting manufacturers across the UK.
You'll be installing, commissioning, servicing and repairing CNC machinery, working directly with customers to diagnose faults, minimise downtime and get machines back into production.
This is very much an electrical/electronic CNC service role , covering everything from control and drive faults through to PLCs, machine electrics, parameters and safety systems.
You'll have technical support behind you, but you'll also need to be comfortable working independently at customer sites and making sensible engineering decisions yourself.
What are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who already has hands-on experience servicing CNC machine tools.
You'll ideally have: CNC machine tool service experience Strong electrical and electronic fault-finding skills Experience with Heidenhain, Siemens SINUMERIK and/or Fanuc controls The ability to read electrical drawings and schematics Knowledge of drives, PLCs and machine electrical systems Confidence working independently at customer sites A full UK driving licence Flexibility to travel and occasionally stay away overnight An electrical/electronic engineering qualification would be useful, while experience with 5-axis machines, Siemens PLCs, industrial networks or machine calibration would be an advantage rather than essential.
What's in it for you?
Alongside a competitive salary , the package includes: Company vehicle Company bonus scheme Overtime opportunities Private healthcare Pension Manufacturer training Tools, laptop and mobile phone Expenses, hotel and fuel cards You'll be joining a business where CNC machine tools are the day job, with an experienced technical team behind you and opportunities to continue developing your knowledge through manufacturer training.
If you're already servicing CNC machinery and want to have a confidential conversation about the role, send across your CV and we'll take it from there.
