Overview

We are seeking a motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead small‑group English withdrawal sessions.
  • Provide guidance to and oversee Learning Support Assistants.
  • Deliver tailored learning interventions to meet students’ individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support classroom management and behaviour strategies.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and promote student well‑being, supporting delivery of curriculum‑aligned interventions and activities.
  • Plan and deliver lessons to individuals, groups or whole classes as required.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through data and feedback.
  • Report concerns, incidents or safeguarding issues in line with policies.
  • Provide line management for Learning Support Assistants.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (including English and Maths) or equivalent.
  • HLTA status or relevant Level 2/3 qualifications (e.g. NNEB).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Competence with IT tools and ability to analyse and present data.
  • Experience working in a similar role within education or SEND environments.
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise tasks.
