The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
We currently have an opportunity for a conscientious and enthusiastic individual to join the Service Department at the Preston Depot in the capacity of MOT Planner/Customer Service Receptionist working a rotating shift pattern as follows:
- Week 1: 6:30am to 3:30pm
- Week 2: 7:30am to 4:30pm
- Week 3: 10am to 7pm
- Plus, 1 in 3 Saturdays from 7am to 1pm
Reporting to the Service Reception Supervisor the main job function will be to take sole responsibility of the MOT ATF Lane, booking retail customers in for MOT tests and taking payment for bookings, raising job cards, obtaining order numbers and invoicing off all 3rd party MOT invoices, arranging urgent repairs if any MOT equipment goes down and liaising with other test stations to move MOT tests to them if our lane goes down.
Other duties within the role will include:
- To promote and maintain excellent customer relations advising customers of work progress or additional work requirements and dealing with customer queries.
- To discuss and identify routine service and repair requirements with customers obtaining detailed background information to assist specialised personnel in diagnosis/testing/inspection.
- To record in detail customer requests for workshop action and obtain authority to proceed.
- To prepare detailed test/diagnosis reports for quotations, estimates or job card development and maintain up to date customer/workshop records.
- To be aware of the workshop loading situation and the progress of work and advise customers of delays or of additional work required.
- To deal effectively with customers' complaints, referring to management or specialist assistance according to policy.
- To promote and effect the sale of workshop repair and service facilities.
- Any other duties reasonably within your capabilities as instructed.
The successful candidates will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Previous experience of working within the commercial vehicle industry and/or a service role would be preferred.
- Experience of Commercial Vehicle MOT processes would be an advantage.
- Good at organizing tasks and adjusting quickly when things change.
- Comfortable reorganizing plans and thinking fast under pressure.
- A friendly, confident and professional manner with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a larger team as well as on their own initiative.
- IT literate with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Have a full and current UK driving licence.
