Job Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and conscientious Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our Aftermarket Department at the Preston site. The role reports to the Shift Supervisor and involves maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles and trailers, diagnosis of faults, performing tests, and effect permanent and complete repairs.

Working Hours

  • Tuesday to Friday from 7pm to 7am
  • Saturday to Monday from 7pm to 7am

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake maintenance and repair activities on commercial vehicles/trailers of all types.
  • Diagnose faults, carry out vehicle tests and effect permanent and complete repairs.
  • Comprehensive preventative maintenance to minimise unnecessary customer costs.
  • Complete paperwork and procedures related to warranty, contract, and retail work.
  • Any other duties reasonably within capability as instructed by manager.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ level 2+ in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, with IRTEC accreditation.
  • Experience in diagnosis, servicing, maintenance, and repair of commercial vehicles.
  • Organised, methodical approach to problem solving with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of manufacturer training courses and technical data.
  • Full UK driving licence. HGV licence preferred but not essential.
  • Friendly, confident, and professional manner with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, as part of a team and independently.
