Our client, a well-established housebuilder, is looking to appoint a Senior Civil Engineer to strengthen their Technical team. This is a confidential opportunity to play a key role across multiple live housing schemes, overseeing the engineering design and delivery of civil and infrastructure works that support high-quality residential communities.
The ideal candidate would come from a Developer or Consultancy background and housebuilding experience, preferably at scale, is a prerequisite.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the engineering input for residential projects, covering roads, drainage, utilities, and external works from design through to delivery.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage and coordinate technical submissions to local authorities and statutory bodies (S38, S278, S104, etc.).
- Act as a key technical interface between consultants, contractors, and internal teams to support the delivery of cost-effective and buildable solutions.
- Provide senior technical guidance to site teams, supporting the resolution of construction-stage engineering challenges.
- Track engineering progress, risks, and budgets, contributing to overall project performance.
- Assist with infrastructure adoption and maintain effective relationships with approving authorities through to completion.
- Experience in a senior engineering role working within a Housebuilding, Consultancy, or Civil Engineering environment.
- Strong technical understanding of infrastructure design, groundworks, and adoption processes.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant design standards, Building Regulations, and planning processes.
- Confident in CAD and engineering design software (e.g., Civil 3D or PDS).
- Well organised with clear communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
