A respected civil engineering consultancy is appointing an ambitious Senior or Principal Engineer to join their established practice. This role offers significant scope to lead technical delivery on complex infrastructure schemes, mentor junior colleagues and act as the primary client-facing engineering lead across key development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery and detailed design of civil engineering schemes, focusing on highways, infrastructure and drainage solutions (SuDS).
- Serve as the main technical point of contact for clients, local authorities, statutory bodies and main contractors.
- Manage section agreement submissions and approvals (S38, S278, S104, S185).
- Mentor, support and review the work of graduate and junior engineers within the team.
- Conduct site walkovers, technical appraisals and feasibility assessments.
- Support project financials, fee proposals and project management tracking.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven track record within a UK civil engineering consultancy environment.
- Extensive technical background in highways, junction design, flood risk assessments and sustainable drainage systems.
- Degree in Civil Engineering (BEng/MEng) or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Chartered or Incorporated status (CEng / IEng with ICE or CIHT) or actively working towards professional accreditation.
- Proficiency with industry-standard software (Civil 3D, MicroDrainage / Causeway Flow, AutoCAD).
- Strong commercial awareness and confident client-management skills.
