We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a Special Projects Team on a freelance basis, focusing on legacy schemes and high-profile remediation works. This role will play a pivotal part in supporting the recovery and resolution of building safety issues in accordance with the Building Safety Regulations. The successful candidate will take the commercial lead across a portfolio of legacy projects, identifying and addressing defects and compliance matters to ensure safe outcomes and long-term solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage cost control, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple legacy schemes
  • Support remedial works and ensure financial oversight of corrective actions
  • Work closely with legal and technical teams on adjudication and recovery matters
  • Provide commercial leadership and risk management on all aspects of legacy project delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Building Safety Regulations and broader industry standards

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in legacy or defect-related construction projects
  • Strong understanding of recovery processes and experience supporting adjudication or dispute resolution
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organised, and confident working independently
  • MRICS or equivalent (desirable, not essential)
