Our client, a well-established and growing contractor with a strong reputation in façade and cladding solutions, is looking to appoint an experienced Contracts Manager to join their operational team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of multiple projects, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Working across façade and cladding projects, you will play a key role in the operational management of contracts from mobilisation through to completion, leading teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring strong commercial and programme performance.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful operational delivery of multiple façade and cladding contracts, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and in line with client specifications and contractual requirements. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and supply chain partners to drive operational excellence while maintaining compliance with established management systems and health & safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operational management of façade and cladding projects.
- Build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure expectations and KPIs are achieved.
- Manage contract mobilisation plans through to successful completion.
- Monitor project performance, quality standards, and programme delivery.
- Ensure resources are effectively managed to meet contractual obligations.
- Review project cashflow and support commercial performance to meet profit targets.
- Maintain strict compliance with company QEMS systems, processes, and ISO requirements.
- Produce and maintain project programmes using MS Project, issuing updates and revisions as required.
- Oversee health & safety planning including RAMS, method statements, and construction safety plans.
- Manage contract teams and subcontractors to ensure scopes of work are delivered to specification.
- Conduct supply chain performance reviews to drive continuous improvement.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure toolbox talks are carried out regularly.
- Provide line management to operational staff, including appraisals, development plans, and performance reviews.
About You
Experience & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of construction industry standard forms of contract.
- Proven experience managing façade and cladding or external envelope projects.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in contract management within construction, refurbishment, or social housing sectors.
- Strong programming skills and proficiency with MS Project and other IT platforms.
- Excellent understanding of health & safety legislation and best practice.
