We are looking to recruit a hardworking and enthusiastic team member who wants to join our fast paced and friendly working environment. This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Carlisle branch.
Key Areas of the Role
This is an integral role based within our busy Steel warehouse & transport department (as well as routine visits to our other depots). Reporting directly to the Steel Operations Manager, and working alongside our existing maintenance provider, you will be responsible for the servicing of a wide range of equipment including bandsaws, side loaders, forklifts, overhead cranes and other various equipment within the steel warehouse. In addition to this, you will carry out routine maintenance and repairs on racking, roller doors, repairing barriers, etc. Some out of hour’s work may be required in response to breakdowns and carrying out post service repairs. This role will ideally suit an individual who is confident working on their own, dedicated and eager to play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.
Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified as an engineer in plant or a similar industry
- Must have a working knowledge of basic electrics
- Flexible with a 'can-do’ attitude to tasks with the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Strong Organisational skills including time management
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of ISO standard
- Confident in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office programmes
Hours of work
7am to 5pm Monday to Friday (13:00 pm Early Finish Friday – alternate weeks). Working days and start and finish times negotiable.
