A leading independent boarding and day school for girls aged 3 - 18 with a co-ed preschool in Winchester, Hampshire. Catering for just over 900 students and teachers daily. Our core feeding offer is breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, dinner, match teas, hospitality and external lettings throughout the year. This is a 7 days a week operation so shift patterns would usually be 5 over 7 days. This location offers a mix of term time roles along with full 52 weeks contracts. This location benefits from free parking on site.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Winchester. You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.
- Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
- Great team player
- Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
- Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
- Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems
- Operate industrial dishwasher
We are looking for:
- Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential
- Organisation skills
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good understanding and use of verbal English
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English and reading skills
- Similar experience of customer and/or food preparation environment is preferred
