Kitchen Assistant

Location: Thomas Franks Ltd, Esher, KT10 9LY. A co‑educational independent day school for children aged 2 to 18, catering for approximately 1400 students and teachers.

Employment terms: Full‑time, Permanent contract. 40 hours per week, 40 weeks a year (term time only). Salary: £15.50 per hour. The contract includes free on‑site parking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety and cleanliness to the highest standards.
  • Assist chefs with food preparation and support kitchen operations.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher and clean all kitchen equipment.
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment, including air filter and extraction systems, using instructions and cleaning materials.
  • Perform pot‑wash duties and help keep the kitchen area organised.
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • Experience with pot wash duties (advantageous).
  • Excellent customer‑service skills.
  • Team player with a can‑do attitude.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable standard of verbal English.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable standard of written English and reading skills.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Preferred: Kitchen Porter experience.
  • Knowledge of food preparation environments (preferred).
