Overview

An independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18 in Street, Somerset. Catering for around 1,300 students daily, Millfield offers a broad educational experience with extensive academic, sporting and co-curricular programmes. We provide a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch and supper, along with vibrant hospitality provision. A key benefit to this location is the extensive campus setting and outstanding facilities in the heart of the Somerset countryside.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to high cleanliness standards.
  • Experience of pot wash duties (advantage).
  • Support chefs with food preparation as required.
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using provided instructions and cleaning materials including air filters and extraction systems.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Good understanding and use of verbal English.
  • Good standard of written English and reading skills.
  • Experience in customer service and/or food preparation environments is preferred.
