ABOUT THE ROLE
As Chef de Partie, you'll play an important role in delivering exceptional food and service across Millfield Prep School.
You'll work with fresh, seasonal ingredients, support menu delivery, and help maintain the high standards our pupils, staff and guests expect.
This is a hands‑on role where creativity, attention to detail and pride in your work will be valued and encouraged.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and cook food from scratch using fresh ingredients
- Deliver high-quality meals for pupils, staff and visitors
- Maintain excellent food quality, presentation and consistency
- Follow food hygiene, allergen management and health & safety procedures
- Work collaboratively within a professional kitchen team
- Support food cost control and minimise waste
- Contribute ideas and creativity to seasonal and bespoke menus

Millfield Prep School is a leading independent co-educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 13, located in the heart of the Somerset countryside.
We provide breakfast, lunch and supper to approximately 550 pupils and staff each day, alongside a busy hospitality and events programme. Operating throughout the year, our kitchen offers a varied and rewarding environment where quality food and service are at the heart of everything we do.
This role operates on a 5 days out of 7 rota, including some weekend working during term time, while still offering significantly more sociable hours than many traditional hospitality roles.
