An independent co‑educational day and boarding school for pupils aged 2 to 18 in Glastonbury, Somerset. We cater to around 550 students and teachers each day and provide a core feeding offer of breakfast, lunch and supper, alongside vibrant hospitality provision. The contract is 52 weeks long, operates 7 days a week, and includes additional weekend residential activity for boarders.

Position: General Assistant
You will ideally have previous experience working within a fast‑paced catering environment and enjoy what you do, working with a great team, for a company fanatical about food and serving wonderful customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, and cleaning.
- Prepare all service areas for the day’s business relating to each meal service.
- Prepare, set up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
- Prepare basic food for sale/service, following good hygiene and safety practices and meeting the specified standards.
- Restock and replenish consumables during service periods, anticipating customer needs to achieve optimum service delivery.
- Empty, remove and store rubbish and recycle at the correct location.
- Be prepared to work evenings and/or weekends for functions and school events.
- Ensure company food standards are adhered to and waste is controlled.
- Ensure all food hygiene and health & safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Teamworking abilities, listening skills, and the ability to work on own initiative.
- Impeccable personal presentation, hygiene and behaviour towards others; food hygiene certificate preferred.
- Adaptable and flexible, reliable, honest, and open attentive approach to customer service.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take responsibility.
- Ability to manage moderately heavy lifting, carrying and pushing.
- Good understanding and use of verbal and written English.
- Similar experience in customer or food preparation environments is preferred.
