Kitchen Porter in City of Westminster

Overview

A co‑educational private day school in Lewisham, London, catering for 900 students and teachers daily. Term‑time only, working 35 weeks a year, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Perform pot washing duties as required.
• Provide excellent customer service and work well within a team.
• Aid chefs with food preparation as needed.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times.
• Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment.
• Clean allocated heavy catering equipment, including air filter and extraction systems, using instructions and cleaning materials.
• Operate an industrial dishwasher.

Qualifications

• Kitchen porter experience preferred but not essential.
• Can‑do attitude and strong organisational skills.
• Reasonable to good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Reasonable to good written English and reading skills.
• Experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment preferred.
