Asset Manager (MRICS) – Private Property Business, Prime London Residential & UK Commercial
OVERVIEW
Our client is a private property business. It owns a substantial, high-value prime residential portfolio in London alongside two commercial portfolios across the UK.
This is a hands‑on role across the whole portfolio. Working alongside the Head of Asset Management, you will lead on the prime London residential portfolio and support the commercial portfolios, working through the business's external managing agents and advisers.
The business is a long‑term owner rather than a fund, and stewardship and placemaking help drive performance.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Running the prime London residential portfolio: lease extensions and enfranchisement claims, freehold and estate management matters, licences and consents, lettings and long‑term maintenance planning.
- Supporting the commercial portfolios: lease events, rent reviews, lettings, asset plans and capital expenditure.
- Directing the business's external managing agents across residential and commercial, and holding them to account on service, budgets and compliance.
- Preparing budgets, asset plans and reports for the Head of Asset Management and the Trustees.
- Reporting to the Head of Asset Management in a small in‑house team, with direct exposure to the CEO and Trustees.
WHAT IT'S LIKE WORKING HERE
- A small, close‑knit team with a long‑term view. You will have real ownership of the portfolio and see the results of your decisions over years.
- The role would suit a residential‑focused chartered surveyor from a landed estate, property company, investor or adviser, with some commercial exposure, who wants hands‑on responsibility for a single high‑quality portfolio.
- The role is full time with 3/4 days in the office and the remainder WFH or site visits.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- At least 3 years post‑qualification experience, mostly in residential asset or estate management
- Residential leasehold experience, including lease extensions, enfranchisement and leasehold reform
- Some exposure to commercial property: leases, rent reviews and lettings
- Sound knowledge of landlord and tenant law
- Experience instructing and managing agents, solicitors and other consultants
- Experience working for or advising a landed estate, family office or other long‑term private owner is an advantage
- Clear written communication and a numerate, commercial approach

c.£80,000 to £90,000 base salary plus bonus, pension and private healthcare.
