About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Clerk to support the day-to-day client money function. You'll be part of a friendly and supportive finance team of five. This role offers a supportive environment and an opportunity to expand and grow your knowledge within a finance department.

Key Responsibilities
- Client Money Management
- Receive, process, and reconcile client payments.
- Allocation of the client money payments to the relevant accounts.
- Maintain accurate records of client funds in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor client money accounts and ensure proper segregation of funds.
- Generating client refunds.
- Insurer Account Settlement
- Reconcile insurer accounts and resolve any queries liaising both internally and externally.
- Generate payments to the insurers.
- General Ledger
- Posting purchase invoices to the supplier ledger - assisting the group finance assistant with any ad hoc requirements.
- Financial Recordkeeping
- Prepare reports on client money transactions and insurer accounts as and when required, such as Due & Settled Reports, Unallocated Cash Report, Aged Debts Reports.
- Assist with audits and regulatory inspections related to client funds.
- Banking of group money.
- Compliance and Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) rules.
- Participate in training programs to enhance understanding of compliance obligations.
- Team Support
- Provide support to other team members as needed, such as assisting with month-end procedures or ad-hoc projects.
- Requirement to be flexible around busy periods such as month end and financial year end.
Requirements
Qualifications and Skills
- Essential
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- A-C Grade in GCSE Maths.
- Good IT Skills within Microsoft (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel).
- Desirable
- Previous experience in a finance role, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing client money handling (e.g., FCA CASS rules).
