We're strengthening our Finance team at Thomas Broadbent and have an opportunity for an career orientated Assistant Accountant to get involved in the financial workings of a complex engineering and manufacturing business, with genuine scope to take on more responsibility and development.
You will take ownership of key activities across transactional accounts including:
- Sales and purchase ledgers, reconciliations and supplier payments
- Invoice-finance reconciliations, including investigating and resolving discrepancies.
- Staged invoicing, milestone payments and accounts linked to longer-term manufacturing projects.
- Supporting banking, cash management and wider Finance activities
- Credit control, aged debt and customer account queries
We're looking for more than someone who simply processes transactions.
Ideally, you'll bring experience from an industrial or project-based environment, with an understanding of invoice finance, staged invoicing and more complex ledgers.
The preferred candidate will have good Excel skills, strong attention to detail and the confidence to investigate problems, take ownership and see things through to resolution.
Looking ahead, there's genuine opportunity to develop beyond transactional Finance, gaining exposure to month-end accounting, cash-flow reporting, management accounts, intercompany accounting and international finance activities as your experience and capabilities grow.
